New international guidelines on daily aspirin use for prevention of heart attack
Research & Medical Director of NIPC, Professor Bill McEvoy, led the evaluation of studies on aspirin use for the joint 2019 American College of Cardiology/American Heart Association Guidelines on the Primary Prevention of Cardiovascular Disease, published last weekend.  

These new guidelines suggest that aspirin should not be prescribed to most adults who are in good cardiovascular health and that the risk of internal bleeding often outweighs the benefit.
